Val di Suga - Montalcino
Wines
Val di Suga is the group’s wine estate in Montalcino, the birthplace of the most prestigious of our denominations: Brunello di Montalcino. The property extends over an area of 120 hectares, 55 of which are planted in Sangiovese vines. What makes our estate unique in the area is its layout, with vineyards on three different slopes of the Montalcino hill country: to the north, the Val di Suga vineyard, spreading all around the wine cellar and including the well-known Vigna del Lago planting; to the southwest, the San Polo vineyard, the “youngest” planting, which enjoys a sterling position; to the southeast, the Spuntali vineyard that produces our famous Cru. The opportunity to use grapes from the three areas, each of which is very different from the others in terms of soil type and exposure, permits the Val di Suga estate to produce harmonious, extremely well-balanced wines that combine all the finest characteristics of this terroir.
