San Leonino - Castellina in Chianti
Wines
The San Leonino wine estate is located in Castellina in Chianti near a small village that grew up during the Middle Ages around the Romanesque church of San Leonino, and extends over 100 hectares, 45 of which are planted in vines and 6 in olives. Production centers principally on the most traditional expressions of Chianti Classico wine, but with its “Monsenese” wine (90% Sangiovese, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot), pressed from the grapes of the cru of the same name, San Leonino proposes a more contemporary interpretation of Chianti Classico that unites elegance and tradition. The wine estate’s other great terroir wine is the single-grape Salivolpe Syrah, a wine with the typical organoleptic characteristics of the grape and bearing the unmistakable footprint of the Chianti-producing territory.
